Software Engineer

Overview

BloomSpot - a well funded, innovative consumer internet start up - is seeking an outstanding engineer with 2+ years of experience who is passionate about building a great company. While BloomSpot is experiencing amazing user growth, our team is still small (in single digits). Our ideal candidate combines technical talent, product intuition, communications skills and ability to both code and convert ideas into real products. This person will play a key role in building the company.

Position Overview

  • 2+ years of experience in an Engineering position
  • Must enjoy both working independently and enjoy working within a close group setting
  • Experience in Django/Python highly desired
  • Web front-end experience and expertise in Javascript/CSS/DHTML highly desirable
  • Ideally would be well versed in both Django/Python AND Front-end engineering. However, strong candidates in either of the two with dedication to learn will not be ignored
  • Located in Mountain View, CA (right across the CalTrain station), but would consider alternative working arrangements
  • The candidate will be amongst the first few members of the team. You should have the commitment and passion to be a core member of the company
  • Full-time as well as part-time positions possible. Both, however, can expect a thrilling ride and a great learning experience

Sales Associate

Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual, early in their career, to join us as a sales associate.
The individual should know and love their city (NY/LA), and take advantage of all that it has to offer - restaurants, spas, events, boutique retail and other fun, hip, fashionable things to do. This individual would contact local merchants (walk-ins and cold calls) and persuade them to provide BloomSpot with a great promotional offer for sale and exclusive sale. The most important qualities in a candidate are a high degree of self-motivation, maturity, enthusiasm and a talent for persuasion and negotiation to win accounts.
Schedule is contract to start, relatively flexible and initially can mesh well with another part-time job; opportunity for full-time hire and for growth within the company. Compensation can be extremely lucrative for the talented individual who is a star in sales. This is excellent opportunity for the individual looking to advance and build their career with dynamic experience in sales, PR, marketing, and business development.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an innovative individual, early in their career, to join our team as jack-of-all trades. This individual would create compelling and attractive marketing materials for merchant deals, implement customer acquisition strategies, and provide customer support. The most important qualities in a candidate are creativity with a strong aesthetic sense, attention to detail and well-developed time and project management skills.
Work schedule is part-time contract to start (15 hrs/wk minimum) with the opportunity for full-time hire and for growth within the company. This is excellent opportunity for the individual looking to advance and build their career in internet startups, marketing, PR, and advertising.
