Put on your tux or finest gown and join the GLIDE Young Professionals Board in honoring California Attorney General Kamala Harris and author Dave Eggers at the Second Annual GLIDE Legacy Gala on Saturday, July 9 at 7PM. Featuring live music, a DJ, hosted bar, and catering from 15 local restaurants, this black tie gala will be held at The Regency Ballroom, one of the city’s most exquisite historic venues.

The palatial Regency Ballroom evokes a sense of refinement and grandeur rarely experienced any more. This opulent venue—built in 1909—enchants all who enter as a fine example Scottish Rite architecture, boasting vaulted ceilings, blonde hardwood floors, and 22 turn-of-the-century teardrop chandeliers.

The inspirational GLIDE Ensemble and Change Band, famed jazz guitarist Terence Brewer, and DJ KingMost will entertain from 7PM until midnight as guests dance, socialize, and enjoy an evening of celebration. Four liquor sponsors and four wineries will be featured at a hosted bar, while hors d'oeuvres circulate from some of San Francisco’s finest restaurants.

VIP ticket holders will gain access to a private room for a meet and greet with GLIDE founders Cecil and Janice. Enjoy faster service at a private hosted bar and separate access to all food. VIP tickets holders will also receive a gift bag filled with hand-selected items from the event’s sponsors, such as Ark.com, Vad Vodka, Don Q, Aidells, That Takes the Cake, and Anchor Brewing.

Background on Rev. Williams and Janice Mirikitani: In 1963, Reverend Cecil Williams revolutionized the then Conservative GLIDE Memorial United Methodist Church by encouraging policies and practices that focused on accepting people from all walks of life in order to create positive change in the community. Over the last 43 years, Williams and his wife Janice Mirikitani, the Founding President of GLIDE, have achieved worldwide recognition for their groundbreaking work toward empowering the city’s poor and marginalized communities to make meaningful changes in their lives and break the cycle of poverty and dependence. Join them this year and celebrate two influential icons Attorney General Kamala Harris and author Dave Eggers as they use their power to create positive change.
