Opened in November 2006 by a homesick Tokyo native, Zenkichi is New York's first modern Japanese brasserie providing the authentic dining experience of traditional Tokyo establishments. Zenkichi features a seasonal menu of deluxe interpretations of popular Tokyo dishes made from the best domestic and imported fish and fresh vegetables.

One of OpenTable's 2010 Top 50 "Most Romantic" Restaurants, Zenkichi allows patrons to enjoy an intimate dining experience with the quiet hideaway feel typical of restaurants in Japan. When guests pass through the wooden, nondescript entrance to Zenkichi, they are led through dark, mysterious hallways to a romantic, semi-private booth draped with deep orange curtains. Here, they are treated to beautifully presented dishes and pampered by polite, knowledgeable servers.

This private setting provides the perfect stage for Zenkichi's creative food and premium sake. Embark on a gastronomic adventure with a seasonal Omakase tasting menu or order à la carte. Start with the Same Nankotsu (shark cartilage in plum sauce) or Cold Fresh Tofu with Uni sashimi, and continue to the Saikyo Black Cod (grilled black cod marinated in Saikyo-miso) or Ginger-Garlic Kobe Beef. Complement your meal with one of Zenkichi's Junmai, all-natural premium sakes made exclusively with rice, water and koji (rice yeast), completely free of additives.
