Cafe Asean’s menu resembles a culinary Silk Road that offers patrons a medley of enticing routes. Vietnamese, Malaysian, and Thai recipes combine in simmering entrees and sumptuously imbue appetizers. The fresh peas, crispy shrimp, and crab meat in the Chien Dai starter—an Indonesian dumpling with sweet and sour sauce—contrast entrees such as Singaporean braised spare ribs. Clay Pot Rice—a Malaysian-style paella of chicken, mushrooms, sweet sausage, and salted cod—proves pleasurable for more adventurous tastes.
