Why You'll Love It
Velvet snakeskin chairs, an elevated fireplace, wine bottle-lined walls—is this New York? Vegas? Try Houston. With its swank ambiance and menu to match (pan-seared foie gras, anyone?), Masraff’s wows even the worldliest of diners.
Dining for a cause? That’s the added bonus of a first-rate meal at Masraff’s. Indulge in a sophisticated evening and know that with every delicious bite, cancer research is benefitting with a generous donation of $10 for every Bloomspot diner.
Sample a duet of seared Hawaiian tuna and diver scallops with lemon-pea risotto. Or maybe filet mignon a la plancha with scallion fresco. Whatever your culinary tendency, grab a friend (or two, or three…) and treat yourself this July to a dining experience you won’t soon forget.

It started one day in late 1996. At the time, Russell Masraff, a graduate of the University of Houston, Hilton School of Hotel & Restaurant Management, was perfecting his restaurant service and management skills in his role as Assistant General Manager of a fine Houston restaurant. He phoned his father and asked, “Dad, why don't we start a restaurant together?"
His father, Tony Masraff, a recent recipient of Houston's Entrepreneur of the Year Award, was running two successful high-technology startups in Houston and managing his ranch. It was a lifelong dream of Tony’s to own a restaurant and didn’t take him long to enthusiastically agree with his son Russell.
Russell resigned his position and Tony sold his high-technology companies and ranch. Together, they established Masraff’s. Tony and Russell are very philanthropically minded and active in the Houston community. Tony is also President and Founder of Tony’s Prostate Cancer Research foundation.
Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in men, but only five percent of federal research dollars are allocated to it. Doctors often disagree on effective treatment, creating a confusing and frustrating situation for the patient and his family. Tony’s Prostate Cancer Research seeks to change that. The mission is simple—raise awareness of prostate cancer and fund research for a non-invasive cure. You can help.
Tony Masraff established Tony’s Prostate Cancer Research (TPCR) not long after receiving a diagnosis of prostate cancer to fund a search for the cure he couldn't find. Since 2001, and because of the generosity of the people of Houston, over $3.5 million has been raised to support the on-going research for the cure at the internationally acclaimed University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Tony personally oversees the distribution of the funds entrusted to TPCR and makes sure that all donations past, present, and future will always be directed towards research to find a non-invasive cure for prostate cancer, which he firmly believes will lead to a cure for all cancers.
